It’s happening! I am at launch, about to re-embark on the World Race. This time with a new route and a new squad. We head to Jaco, Costa Rica tomorrow!

It’s been interesting going through the whole preparation and launch period for a second time.  One of my teammates asked the question earlier, “what do you feel like you have had to give up to go on the World Race?” My answer to that question was my expectations. When I first began this journey back in October 2019, I certainly never expected that in January 2021 I would be preparing to do the World Race again for 11 months. I thought I would probably have a job and be settling into a career. I had a very loose idea of what that job might be, but I was completely open to whatever else the Lord might have in store for me. It turns out that He had something very different in mind for me.

So often, it can be easy to plan out your life in stages. Graduate college, get a job, get married, start a family…etc. Instead, I can look back at the past six and a half years since I graduated high school and see how very different my life is from what I planned. It’s kind of hilarious but also so very sweet to see how much better God’s plan for my life is.

I would appreciate your prayers for my squad as we travel to Costa Rica tomorrow.  We are all very excited, but we are also being extremely cautious to protect ourselves and others from covid. I know that this race is going to be much different from my last race, but I am so excited to see the ways in which God is going to move!

God bless,
Catherine
